lisa_award_heroWe are pleased to announce that Lisa Johnstone, Director and Chartered Financial Planner of VWM Wealth, has won the prestigious UK Chartered Financial Planner of the Year Award, at a gala Chartered Awards dinner which took place at the ICC in Birmingham, on Thursday 6th November, attended by 600 guests and VIPs.

Personal Finance Society Members, such as Lisa, who have achieved individual Chartered Financial Planner status are now widely recognised as having achieved the gold standard for the financial advisory profession and demonstrate a commitment to high professional standards. The Personal Finance Society recognise the contribution that Chartered Financial Planners are making to raising professional standards and this flagship award rewards a practising Chartered Financial Planner following a rigorous 3 stage judging process.

As stated by the Personal Finance Society “The winner will have demonstrated superior ability across a broad range of professional skills and an extraordinary commitment to the advancement of their profession. Being the winner of the Chartered Financial Planner of the Year Award undoubtedly represents the ultimate endorsement of excellence and professional achievement”.

Throughout the rigorous assessment process Lisa demonstrated both a passion for her profession and demonstrated the high standards of professionalism expected of someone who has been elevated as a role model for the entire advisory profession. At VWM Wealth we are rightly proud of her achievement and the affirmation of our recruitment and professional training process from which our clients benefit, in terms of the very best financial planning and investment expertise available to meet their objectives and provide peace of mind.

The 3 stage process that Lisa took part in included completing a hypothetical holistic case study, independently authored and judged by technical specialists Technical Connection. Finalists were invited to a panel interview on the 15 October in London where judges questioned them on a range of subjects to gain a better understanding of their skills, service proposition and professionalism.

The final judging panel was made up of:

  • Teresa Perchard, Consumer Interest Consultant
  • Andrew Megson, Managing Director – Retirement, Partnership
  • John Lappin, Personal Finance Journalist
  • Ruth Sturkey, Chartered Financial Planner, Director, The Red House Consulting Ltd
  • Keith Richards, Personal Finance Society Chief Executive
